Manuscripts submitted to Journal of Community Service Based on Participation, Collaboration, and Social Innovation must be original scholarly works that have not been previously published and are not currently under consideration by another journal.
The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of the journal, especially in the fields of community service, community empowerment, participatory development, collaboration, social innovation, sustainable development, and community-based problem solving.
Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript follows the journal template, academic writing standards, citation style, and publication ethics.
Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian. The language used must be clear, academic, concise, and grammatically correct.
Authors are encouraged to proofread the manuscript before submission to ensure clarity, accuracy, and readability.
The manuscript should be prepared according to the following format:
Manuscript file must be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
Paper size: A4.
Font: Times New Roman.
Font size: 12 pt.
Line spacing: 1.15 or 1.5.
Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
Manuscript length: approximately 4,000–8,000 words, including references.
Tables, figures, and documentation photos must be clear, numbered, titled, and referred to in the text.
The manuscript should generally include the following sections:
The title must be concise, clear, informative, and reflect the main focus of the community service or social innovation program.
The title should describe the activity, target community, approach, or main contribution of the manuscript.
The manuscript must include the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, country, and email address.
The corresponding author must be clearly identified.
The abstract should be written in one paragraph and contain a brief summary of the background, objectives, methods or approach, implementation, results, impact, and conclusion of the community service activity.
The abstract should be approximately 150–250 words.
Authors must provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript.
Keywords should be written in lowercase, separated by commas, and arranged alphabetically when possible.
The introduction should explain the background of the community problem, urgency of the activity, target community, gap or need, objectives, and significance of the community service program.
The introduction must clearly show why the program is important and how it contributes to participation, collaboration, social innovation, and community development.
The method section should explain the design and implementation of the community service activity.
This section may include:
Location and target community.
Description of participants or community partners.
Stages of activity implementation.
Participatory or collaborative approach used.
Tools, materials, or technology applied.
Data collection or evaluation techniques.
Indicators of program success.
Schedule or duration of the activity.
Authors should describe the method clearly so that the community service program can be understood, evaluated, and replicated by others.
The results section should present the implementation, outputs, outcomes, and achievements of the community service activity.
The discussion section should interpret the results, explain the impact on the community, relate the findings to relevant theories or previous studies, and describe the role of participation, collaboration, and social innovation in the program.
Authors may include tables, figures, charts, documentation photos, or community feedback to support the explanation.
The discussion should not only describe activities but also provide analysis, reflection, and academic argumentation regarding the contribution of the program.
The conclusion should summarize the main results of the community service activity, the benefits for the target community, and the contribution of the program.
Authors may also include recommendations for future community service, policy development, institutional collaboration, or program sustainability.
Authors may include acknowledgments for individuals, community partners, institutions, funding bodies, or other parties that contributed to the community service activity.
This section is optional.
All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section.
Authors must ensure that every in-text citation appears in the reference list and every reference listed is cited in the manuscript.
Authors are encouraged to use recent and relevant references, especially journal articles, books, reports, and official documents related to community service, participation, collaboration, empowerment, and social innovation.
The journal recommends using reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure citation accuracy.

Documentation photos may be included when relevant, but authors must ensure that the photos are clear, ethical, and have permission from the individuals or communities involved when necessary.
Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism.
All submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with plagiarism, duplicate publication, excessive similarity, or improper citation may be rejected by the editorial team.
Community service activities involving community members, institutions, students, vulnerable groups, interviews, surveys, observations, photographs, videos, or personal data must be conducted ethically and responsibly.
Authors must obtain informed consent, institutional permission, or ethical approval when required.
Authors must protect confidential information, personal identities, and sensitive community data. Community participation must be based on respect, transparency, fairness, and mutual benefit.

The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations, manuscript quality, and journal publication standards.
Authors who receive revision requests must revise the manuscript according to the comments from reviewers and editors.
The revised manuscript must be submitted within the specified time. Authors should also provide a response to reviewer comments explaining the changes made in the manuscript.
