Author Guidlines

General Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to Educational Ethics must be original scholarly works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration for publication in another journal.

The manuscript must be relevant to the focus and scope of the journal, especially in the fields of education, educational ethics, character education, educational policy, learning practices, teaching ethics, educational management, curriculum studies, and related educational research.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript follows the journal template, academic writing standards, citation style, and publication ethics.

Manuscript Language

Manuscripts may be written in English or Indonesian. The language used must be clear, academic, and grammatically correct.

Authors are strongly encouraged to proofread the manuscript before submission to ensure clarity, accuracy, and readability.

Manuscript Format

The manuscript should be prepared according to the following format:

Manuscript file must be submitted in Microsoft Word format.
Paper size: A4.
Font: Times New Roman.
Font size: 12 pt.
Line spacing: 1.15 or 1.5.
Margins: 2.5 cm on all sides.
Manuscript length: approximately 4,000–8,000 words, including references.
Tables and figures must be clear, numbered, titled, and referred to in the text.

Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should generally include the following sections:

Title

The title must be concise, clear, informative, and reflect the main focus of the study. The title should not be too long and should avoid unnecessary abbreviations.

Author Name and Affiliation

The manuscript must include the full name of each author, institutional affiliation, country, and email address. The corresponding author must be clearly identified.

Abstract

The abstract should be written in one paragraph and contain a brief summary of the research background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.

The abstract should be approximately 150–250 words.

Keywords

Authors must provide 3–5 keywords that represent the main concepts of the manuscript.

Keywords should be written in lowercase, separated by commas, and arranged alphabetically when possible.

Introduction

The introduction should explain the background of the study, research problem, research gap, novelty, objectives, and significance of the research.

The introduction must clearly show why the study is important and how it contributes to the field of education and educational ethics.

Literature Review

The literature review should present relevant theories, concepts, and previous studies related to the research topic.

Authors should use recent and relevant references to support the research framework and strengthen the academic foundation of the study.

Research Method

The research method section should explain the research design, approach, population and sample or participants, data collection techniques, research instruments, data analysis techniques, and research procedures.

For qualitative research, authors should describe the research setting, informants, data sources, data collection process, and analysis procedures.

For quantitative research, authors should describe the variables, population, sample, instruments, validity, reliability, and statistical analysis.

For mixed-method research, authors should clearly explain how qualitative and quantitative data are collected, analyzed, and integrated.

Results and Discussion

The results section should present research findings clearly and systematically. Findings may be supported by tables, figures, or charts when necessary.

The discussion section should interpret the findings, relate them to previous studies or theories, explain their meaning, and highlight their contribution to educational research and ethical practice.

Authors should avoid merely repeating the results. The discussion must provide analysis, interpretation, and academic argumentation.

Conclusion

The conclusion should summarize the main findings of the study, answer the research objectives, and explain the implications of the research.

Authors may also include suggestions for future research, policy development, educational practice, or institutional improvement.

Acknowledgment

Authors may include acknowledgments for individuals, institutions, or funding bodies that contributed to the research or publication process.

This section is optional.

References

All references cited in the manuscript must be listed in the reference section. Authors must ensure that every in-text citation appears in the reference list and every reference listed is cited in the manuscript.

Authors are encouraged to use recent references, especially journal articles published within the last five years.

The journal recommends using reference management tools such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote to ensure citation accuracy.

Citation Style

Educational Ethics uses the APA style for citations and references.

Example of in-text citation:

Single author:
(Santoso, 2022)

Two authors:
(Rahman & Putri, 2023)

Three or more authors:
(Hidayat et al., 2024)

Example of reference format:

Journal article:

Tables and Figures

Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and given clear titles.

Table titles should be placed above the table, while figure titles should be placed below the figure.

Tables and figures must be relevant, readable, and properly referred to in the manuscript text.

Plagiarism Policy

Authors must ensure that the manuscript is free from plagiarism. All submitted manuscripts may be checked using plagiarism detection software.

Manuscripts with plagiarism, duplicate publication, excessive similarity, or improper citation may be rejected by the editorial team.

Ethical Considerations

Research involving human participants, students, teachers, educational institutions, surveys, interviews, observations, or personal data must be conducted ethically.

Authors must obtain informed consent, institutional permission, or ethical approval when required. Confidential data and participant identities must be protected.

Submission Process

Authors must submit manuscripts through the online submission system of Educational Ethics.

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

The manuscript follows the journal template.
The manuscript fits the focus and scope of the journal.
The manuscript has not been published elsewhere.
The manuscript is not under review by another journal.
All citations and references are complete and accurate.
The manuscript has been checked for grammar, formatting, and similarity.

Peer Review Process

All manuscripts submitted to Educational Ethics will undergo editorial screening and peer review.

The editorial team will first check the manuscript’s suitability, originality, format, and compliance with publication ethics. Manuscripts that pass the initial screening will be sent to reviewers for academic evaluation.

The final decision regarding acceptance, revision, or rejection is made by the editor based on reviewer recommendations and journal standards.

Revision

Authors who receive revision requests must revise the manuscript according to the comments from reviewers and editors.

The revised manuscript must be submitted within the specified time. Authors should also provide a response to reviewer comments explaining the changes made in the manuscript.

Final Statement

By submitting a manuscript to Educational Ethics, authors agree to follow these author guidelines and accept responsibility for the originality, accuracy, and ethical standards of their submitted work.
